Slow down and play with clay, this session is all about the creative and meditative nature of clay. Experience the simple joy of making whilst making some new friends whilst you’re here!
This workshop will explore hand building techniques with air dry clay, exploring texture, shape and decoration. No need for firing - you will be able to take your piece/s home at the end of the session.
Beginner friendly, no experience needed - just bring yourself and your love for getting creative and a slow, gentle pace.

Make A Mug
Come and get creative by making your very own ceramic mug from scratch!
This workshop will explore hand building techniques including coiling, pinch pots, attaching handles and more to help you create your very own mug from clay. In this session, you will by guided by ceramic artist, Leia to form a piece that is functional as well as unique.
Beginner friendly, no experience needed - just bring yourself and your love for getting crafty! (Recommended for 18+ due to evening session)
What’s included:
Complimentary grazing platter to share
All clay, tools, and materials
Kiln & glaze firing of 1–2 handcrafted mugs
All work glazed in a glaze of your choice (options available on the night)
Important info:
Processing time: 4–6 weeks for firing and glazing. We’ll notify you when your piece is ready for collection.
Collection window: Items must be collected within 4 weeks of notification. If you are unable to pick up your piece/s, please nominate a friend to do so for you.
All pottery is fired at glazed in our studio. All students must collect from North Perth location.
Accessibility info:
The main entrance is accessed via a small set of stairs. An accessible entrance is located to the side of the building and accessible toilets are located in the shared space between the North Perth Lesser Hall and North Perth Town Hall.
